Qualify now for one of Knod Foundation’s Pay-it-Forward loans

A “Pay-it-Forward” loan uses funds contributed to Knod Foundation to help learners get a degree through Knod

The unique thing about these loans is that, when the learner completes their studies and get a job, they return the money to Knod Foundation through a low salary deduction so that it can be used again to help another Knod learner. Knod Foundation loans will cover your education fees (US$ 10,000), and it may also cover your study abroad trip and living expenses for the in-campus term at the beginning of your program.

The Pay-it-Forward loan is perpetual. It is used, returned and then paid forward over and over. Learners benefit from the funding of the loan, and then benefit the community by accepting the responsibility of using their success to help other learners experience the same success.

Applying for a Knod Foundation Loan is easy

Once you’re accepted by Knod to enroll in a future cohort, you can ask for a Knod Foundation loan.  Follow the process to apply to Knod by going to the “Get On Board” section.

  1. After your enrollment is approved, fill out the Knod Foundation Pay it Forward Loan application. It is very important that you fill and provide all the requested information. Give us a summary of your experience earning your higher education degree, mention individuals or organizations that helped you during this process. Letters of recommendation may be added to supplement your application at this time.
  2. Knod Foundation will review and verify all submitted information on the completed funding application. Based on financial need, academic story, references and probability of employment, Knod Foundation will decide about your request.
    • Applying students will receive approval via email, information regarding amounts, available funds and the activation date of the loan will be provided at that time.
    • If a funding is not approved, the reasons will be given at that time to make sure a student’s application has been properly submitted and underwritten correctly.
  3. Knod Foundation will send you a funding agreement to print, sign, have notarized and then have emailed back.  You will then have to make a loan processing fee payment of $30US to Knod Foundation.
  4. Approved loans will start funding your tuition fees per term, and make payments directly for the international trip and living expenses if approved.

It is recommended that you cover as many your own expenses as possible to keep the total amount of funding low. This way, you allow for enough funds for others and, very important, you will get an easier pay forward structure at the completion of your degree program and beginning of employment. Each Pay Forward process will begin at the first payment received from any employer.
